The event, organized by the Federal Government in a joint effort by ProMéxico and the Secretariats of Economy and Foreign Affairs, will take place from the fifth to the eighth of December, 2010.
Green Solutions @ COP16 aims to gather businesspersons, government officials and experts from Mexico and around the world in order to address topics related to the challenges of sustainable development.
Green Solutions@COP16, jointly organized by ProMéxico and Mexico’s Foreign Relations and Economy ministries, secures its standing as a venue for exchanging ideas, presenting technologies to protect the environment, and also as a business gathering. Just during the second day of formal activities, 599 meetings took place which altogether represent trade and investment opportunities worth about US$ 35 million.

Green Solutions@COP16, which will gather presidents and CEOs of Mexican and foreign companies, associations and business chambers, high-level government officials and specialists, will be an international platform for dialogue and exchange to spur progress towards a “green,” low carbon economy.
Mexico will not hesitate in taking a leading role in the international concert as far as the application of green economic policies that will drive national economic growth while preserving and protecting our ecosystems, ProMéxico CEO Carlos Guzmán Bofill declared during his participation in the Green Solutions@COP16 forum taking place in Cancún, Quintana Roo.
Mexico is undertaking specific actions regarding energy efficiency with transportation, housing and industry programs and financing, providing these major projects with fiscal incentives, declared Mexican Finance Secretary Ernesto Cordero during his participation in the Green Solutions@COP16 forum.
The entire world should be concerned with solving the most urgent problems we, as a society, face: global warming, pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels, and water shortage. It would be a pity if subsequent generations did not have the opportunity to know what we see today, said Jean Philippe Cousteau.
ProMéxico and Campus Party rewarded the creativity and talent of young Mexicans who developed technological applications to help save fuel, maximize energy use or reduce the emission of pollutants.
